Venable partner Larry Norton was quoted in a February 19, 2013 USA Today article on the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a case challenging the limits an individual can donate to federal candidates and political parties. Currently, individuals cannot donate more than $123,200 to all federal candidates, political parties, and traditional political action committees during a two-year election cycle.
“The court has seemed skeptical of restrictions on political speech,” said Norton. “Any campaign-finance restriction that gets heard by the Supreme Court right now is vulnerable.”
