Venable acted as Maryland counsel to real estate investment trust American Realty Capital Properties, Inc. (ARCP) in connection with its purchase of American Realty Capital Trust IV, Inc. (ARCT) in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about $3.1 billion. This acquisition, along with other recent transactions, will make ARCP the second-biggest net lease REIT. Closing of the transaction is subject to stockholder approval by both companies.
