Washington, DC (April 29, 2014) – American Lawyer published its annual AmLaw 100 rankings today with Venable jumping five spots from last year to come in at #71. The rankings are based on 2013 gross revenue.
The firm also ranked #74 in profits per partner, #61 in revenue per lawyer, #59 in value per lawyer, and #71 in compensation-all partners.

Venable improved in all the critical categories that The AmLaw 100 measures.
According to The AmLaw 100, Venable improved in the following categories between 2012 and 2014:
- Gross Revenue: 79th (2012) to 71st (2014)
- Profits per Partner: 118th (2012) to 74th (2014)
- Revenue per Lawyer: 92nd (2012) to 61st (2014)
- Value per Lawyer: 91st (2012) to 59th (2014)
- Compensation to all Partners: 108th (2012) to 71st (2014)
Venable headcount also grew from 488 FTEs (Full time equivalents) in 2012 to 533 FTEs reported in the current AmLaw 100. During that period the firm opened two additional offices, in San Francisco and Wilmington, DE.
