On July 28, 2014, National Law Journal released its rankings of the top law firms in the Washington, DC area with Venable ranked among the top 20 in several categories.
In the Legal Times 150 ranking of the largest firms in the DC metro area by total number of attorneys, Venable came in at number 16. Up two spots from last year, Venable had 220 attorneys and 117 partners in its DC area offices. Rankings were determined by a head count of full-time-employee attorneys as of December 31, 2013.
Venable came in at number 17 overall and number 15 among law firms on the Influence 50 list of top earning lobbying practices in the DC area. Last year, Venable brought in $22.1 million in gross revenue from 47 lobbyists.
Finally, on The D.C. 25 list of top revenue grossing law firms in the DC area, Venable ranked number 17. Revenue was up 4.7% over the previous year for the firm’s DC area offices.
