WRKO Boston's Talk Station interviewed Jim Hanks in a November 18, 2014 broadcast on the major increase in merger and acquisition activity in the U.S. and globally this year.
When asked about this year's $3 trillion dollars in merger and acquisition activity, Jim attributed the activity to a combination of factors such as strong share prices, the low cost of raising cash in both equity and debt markets, the increased number of activist funds with large cash pools and increased globalization. When asked whether he thought 2015 will be another strong year for merger and acquisition activity, Hanks offered "I think probably so. The fundamentals that are driving merger and acquisition activity currently I think are going to continue for a while. I think people expect them to continue for a while."
