Late last year, President Obama announced plans to begin normalizing relations with Cuba, a move that could open up a new pool of talent for professional baseball in the United States.
"Reading the political tea leaves, that’s not going to happen anytime soon," said Craig. "Once we have the U.S. embassy up and running in Havana, those discussions could take place almost overnight. In order for it to actually become a reality, we're going to have to see significant effort undertaken on the political front up on Capitol Hill."
