Former Michigan Congressman Bart Stupak appeared as a guest on the January 4, 2017, broadcast of CNN Newsroom to discuss Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare. While in Congress, Stupak was one of the deciding votes in the passage of President Obama’s signature healthcare legislation.
Stupak said it would be irresponsible to repeal Obamacare without some form of replacement, not only because of the 20 million people covered by it, but also because of the burden it would place on rural hospitals. He called on Republicans to move forward in a responsible way and not leave people without access to quality and affordable healthcare.
