Lawrence Cooke has been appointed to serve as a member of the Judiciary Committee for the New York City Bar. The Judiciary Committee evaluates candidates for election, reelection, appointment, reappointment, designation, and certification to judicial office and other offices connected with the administration of justice in state and federal courts in New York City. The primary purpose of the Committee, which has been in existence for more than 140 years, is to ensure that candidates meet appropriate standards of professional competence and integrity and to strengthen the judiciary by encouraging merit appointments and merit nominations for elective judicial office.
