On May 7, Gordon Davis, Commissioner of Parks and Recreation from 1978 to spring of 1983, was interviewed by WNYC Radio at the exhibit for 1978: The NYC Parks/New York Times Photo Project. In 1978, Davis hired a team of New York Times photojournalists to document parks throughout the city. In a special section published by the New York Times on April 29 of this year, forty-two of their photos were shown for the first time. Davis's WNYC interview can be accessed here; the Times special section can be found here.
The exhibit is free to the public and on display at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park, now through June 14.
