Baltimore, MD (June 8, 2018) – Venable LLP, through its philanthropic arm, the Venable Foundation, Inc., received the Pinnacle Partner Award from Maryland Legal Aid's Equal Justice Council during a recent awards ceremony. The award recognizes the firm as Maryland Legal Aid's strongest supporter among the private bar and for its unwavering commitment to and unprecedented level of support for equal access to justice in 2017.
Since 1992, Venable has been a supporter of Maryland Legal Aid through its contributions of donations, time, and legal assistance. The firm has given more than $1 million in donations over the years, including a significant contribution of $150,000 from the Venable Foundation in 2017 to fund a Venable Innovation Project. In addition, Venable attorneys have given countless hours of pro bono work. One recent assignment that some associates worked on made a great impact on low-income Maryland Legal Aid's clients faced with homelessness or deplorable living conditions.
"We are honored to receive the Pinnacle Partner Award and look forward to continuing our long-standing support of and share in the mission of Maryland Legal Aid's Equal Justice Council," said Robert L. Waldman, vice president of the Venable Foundation and chair of Venable's Business Division.
Venable's Pinnacle Partner Award comes directly on the heels of the firm being honored by the Maryland Food Bank as one of its Heroes Against Hunger recipients and receiving the Powerhouse Partner of the Year award on May 10, 2018.
