On August 22, 2018, Kan Nawaday was interviewed for a broadcast segment on CNN's Don Lemon and for an article in Bloomberg regarding Michael Cohen's plea deal and what the plea reveals for President Trump.
During the CNN segment, Mr. Nawaday outlined the prosecutorial policies for sentencing rules and factors regarding specific and general deterrence for the Cohen trial.
Commenting on how prosecutors may charge Cohen, Nawaday told Bloomberg, "Someone who's doing their job and being told what to do, they don’t know the full scope of things. Prosecutorial discretion says maybe you shouldn't pursue someone criminally who simply got caught in the mix."
