Ked Whitmore, chair of Venable’s Zoning and Land Use Practice and partner-in-charge of the firm’s Tysons office, was recognized by Virginia Business among its 2020 Legal Elite for Real Estate/Land Use. This award, launched in cooperation with the Virginia Bar Association, honors Virginia’s top lawyers in 20 specialties as voted by their peers.
Mr. Whitmore works with clients on some of the most ambitious new developments in the Washington metropolitan area and across the country. With a focus on obtaining entitlements for new projects, he offers guidance on all of the legislative, administrative, and regulatory issues that impact property development. Armed with a strong transactional background, Mr. Whitmore has advised numerous clients on the acquisition and disposition of major commercial and residential properties. He also works with both property owners and tenants to structure and negotiate commercial leases for office, industrial, and retail assets.
