Venable Hosts Diversity-Focused Recruitment Event for Students, Kicks off 1L LCLD Diversity Scholar Recruiting Season

2 min

On December 1, 2021, Venable hosted members of diverse student organizations for a virtual panel featuring discussions on the firm’s Summer Program and Diversity and Inclusion strategy, as well as a Q&A session.  The panelists were Venable’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, Jenn Reddien; partners Calvin Nelson and Witt Chang; and associates Jennifer Couch and Jordan Jean. Each panelist provided unique insights into their experiences at Venable and presented detailed examples of what differentiates the firm’s summer associates program from others of its kind. This event is one of many diversity-focused panels arranged as a part of Venable’s broader campus engagement strategy, involving more than 25 law schools. In addition, the panel kicked off the upcoming 1L Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Diversity Scholar recruiting season. Following the panel, students enjoyed an opportunity to network with various lawyers and Hiring Committee members from their office of interest. The firm plans to stay in touch with prospective recruits as it looks to hire eight 1L Diversity Scholars to join the 2022 summer associate programs in the Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC offices.
