William Briggs, a partner in Venable’s Commercial Litigation Practice, was elected as a member of the prestigious Chancery Club of Los Angeles. Founded in 1925 and inspired in part by the example of the English Inns of Court, the Club’s elected membership is composed of distinguished lawyers who are also active in professional, civic, and philanthropic organizations.
Mr. Briggs is a trial lawyer and civil litigator with broad experience in the entertainment industry. He represents some of the top talent in film, television, music, and sports. He has experience in state, federal, and appellate courts and with arbitrations involving intellectual property disputes, complex entertainment contract disputes, partnership disputes, rights of publicity and First Amendment issues, and employment matters.
Mr. Briggs joins fellow LA litigation partner Laura Wytsma as a member of the Chancery Club. Ms. Wytsma has been a member of this elite group for two years.
