On December 1, 2022, Jennifer Bruton was featured in Law360 on her new role as Venable’s partner-in-charge of the DC office. The following is an excerpt:
What are your main priorities for the office as partner-in-charge?
One of the things I'm focused on, though it's not necessarily a new focus for me, is that I'm the chair of the women's attorney group here at Venable, which operates across all the offices, and that also means I'm on the diversity committee.
I'm going to continue to be focused on the recruitment, retention and promotion of women and diverse attorneys at Venable, so I'm trying to figure out how I can use this position to foster that goal. Among other things, you need a critical mass of people at an organization to make diverse individuals feel comfortable. We all recognize that a diverse workforce is a smarter workforce because you have different perspectives.
