Washington, DC (February 20, 2024) – Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Kathryn T. Lundy has joined the firm as a partner in the Labor and Employment Group and will be based in the New York office.

Ms. Lundy is a seasoned litigator and management-side labor and employer attorney who is regularly called upon to litigate high-stakes disputes, including sexual harassment and discrimination, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, and restrictive covenants. High-profile clients also regularly seek her advice and counsel regarding the gamut of complex employment issues, including executive compensation or termination matters, negotiation of complex employment agreements, classification issues, and restrictive covenants. She also provides guidance on discipline, management training, policy development, reductions in force, internal investigations, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws, including workplace operations.

Stacie Tobin, a co-chair of Venable’s Litigation Division, said, “Kathryn has experience working with high-profile clients in complex labor and employment matters. She will be a wonderful complement to our team and a tremendous asset to the firm.”

“Kathryn is a strategic thinker and a passionate litigator who is well known for her work in the hospitality industry. We are thrilled she will be joining us in the New York office,” said Matt McLaughlin, partner-in-charge of the firm’s New York office.

Ms. Lundy also counsels on and litigates a broad array of matters to secure emergent relief to enforce restrictive covenants and protect client rights under the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA) and related state laws. She maintains an active practice counseling organizations prior to anticipated litigation in either prosecuting or defending against claims of misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference with a contract (i.e., restrictive covenant), and prospective business relationships.

Commenting on her move to Venable, Ms. Lundy said, “Venable is well known for being a powerhouse in the hospitality industry and having a very successful labor and employment group. I am excited to expand my practice at Venable and work with the firm’s brilliant attorneys.”

Ms. Lundy received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and her B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
