I am pleased to announce the release of the Venable Foundation 2023 Annual Report. When the communities in which we live and work thrive, we thrive too. And when the firm prospers, we give back.
In that spirit, our firm established the Venable Foundation in 1983, which allocated $100,000 to 30 organizations that provided needed services and opportunities to low-income individuals and marginalized groups; donations were also made to cultural institutions. Now, 40 years later, Venable’s equity partners donated $3.8 million through the Foundation in 2023, to almost 400 nonprofit organizations in all giving areas across our office locations.
As we celebrated the Foundation’s anniversary in 2023, we reflected on four decades of commitment, philanthropy, and giving back to the communities our attorneys, professionals, and clients call home. We take great pride in the ability of our Foundation to assist our neighbors in times of need.
Venable recognizes the importance of connection. The Venable Foundation, consistent with the philosophy of our firm, connects with the challenges impacting our communities, regardless of whether those issues intersect with a particular area of our legal practice. It is by helping our neighbors that we can start to chip away at larger systemic issues and create a space where people can thrive.
