Washington, DC (June 13, 2024) – The Washington Business Journal has again recognized Venable LLP with its 2024 Corporate Philanthropy Award as one of Greater Washington’s top 30 large companies for charitable giving. The annual list recognizes the region's most active and inspirational companies and nonprofits that have made a difference in their communities through both financial and volunteer philanthropic work.

The Venable Foundation, which celebrates four decades of impact, is one of the oldest law firm foundations in the United States and is regularly recognized and ranked as one of the most charitable. In 2023 alone, the Foundation awarded more than $3.8 million in grants to 394 nonprofit organizations across the country. Specifically in the DC area, the Foundation committed $1.52 million. Already in the first half of 2024, the Venable Foundation, Inc. has given $308,000 to 38 organizations in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia.
The Foundation supports a wide variety of charitable, civic, and cultural endeavors and serves public interest law needs in our communities. Grantees provide a variety of programs for the community, including out-of-school activities, arts education, academic enrichment, homeless services, transitional and supportive housing, access to food, LGBTQ+ services, college access, workforce development, environmental preservation, health-based initiatives, legal services, immigration support, and numerous other programs that address issues affecting low-income individuals and domestic violence survivors.
