Venable LLP co-managing partner Larry Gesner passed away yesterday after an illness of several years.
“Larry was truly extraordinary and unique among us for his decency, good will, patience, kindness, intelligence, good temperament, and above all friendship,” said Stu Ingis, chairman of Venable. “He will be deeply missed.”
“Whether it was navigating business challenges for the firm or confidentially helping someone with a professional or personal challenge in life, Larry was all in and entirely focused on what was in front of him,” said Dan Moylan, who worked alongside Larry as co-managing partner of Venable.
Gesner worked at Venable for 21 years, holding various management positions, including leading the firm’s Business Division and most recently serving as co-managing partner since May 2016. He was based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Over his career, Larry built a robust and successful legal practice focused on structuring and negotiating complex financial transactions.
