Erin McCloskey Maus, a co-chair of Venable’s Consumer Products Industry Group, was named among Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s Top 2024 Women in Law.
The award honors influential women in law for their work to advance other women in the profession, their success in the legal community, and being an example of leadership.
Erin advises clients on international and domestic products liability and mass tort litigation and assists companies in assessing supply chain risk and handling various product-related compliance issues.
Complementing her product liability practice is a commercial litigation and business consulting practice for product manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers, with a particular focus on product regulatory compliance and global product recalls. She has handled and tried cases in state and federal courts across the country, managed multidistrict litigation, and handled domestic and international arbitrations.
Erin’s product liability practice involves representing and advising domestic and international manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers from varied market sectors, with a focus on consumer goods, electronics, technology, automotive, food, and medical devices. She advises clients on how to assess and reduce supply chain risk, identify and respond to various product compliance issues, and handle all aspects of conducting a global product recall, including crisis management, regulatory notifications, implementing a corrective action plan, complying with government investigations, and planning and preparing for eventual civil litigation. Erin’s commercial litigation and business consulting practice includes contract, warranty, distribution, dealer, sales of goods, and Uniform Commercial Code issues.
