This award pays tribute to legal professionals who are serving businesses, clients, and individuals across Maryland and making their communities stronger. The following is an excerpt from Ms. Bouyea’s award profile:

Laura Bouyea has nearly two decades of service to the Baltimore community. She serves as co-lead of the Baltimore chapter of WAVe (Women Attorneys at Venable) while maintaining active roles in numerous professional and community organizations. As a board member for the Baltimore Area Council: Boy Scouts of America and The IMAGE Center of Maryland, she demonstrates commitment to local initiatives. The IMAGE Center is a nonprofit dedicated to new thinking about disability.

Bouyea’s service extends to addressing food insecurity through her work with the Lawyers’ Campaign Against Hunger, which benefits the Maryland Food Bank. She has served on the campaign’s executive committee for almost two decades and has chaired the statewide campaign three times. She also chairs the Women’s Leadership Council of My Sister’s Place Women’s Center, a day shelter for women and children in Baltimore City.
