Daily Record Recognizes Chuck Morton Among Its 2025 Influential Marylanders

Chuck Morton was recognized by the Daily Record among its 2025 Influential Marylanders in the category of law. Honorees were selected by the Daily Record’s editors for their significant contributions to their fields and leadership in one of the following areas: civic leadership, communications, education, finance, freestyle, general business, healthcare, law, philanthropy, real estate, and technology.

Mr. Morton is the managing partner of Venable’s Baltimore office, where he helps clients solve complex business challenges as they counsel clients on a wide range of corporate matters. He is recognized for his abilities in guiding mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and financing transactions involving middle-market companies. Mr. Morton assists lenders, investors, and entrepreneurs as they create, build, and buy or sell businesses, primarily in the healthcare, technology, and consumer products industries. He regularly acts on behalf of private equity groups.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Morton serves as treasurer of Maryland Legal Aid and secretary of Bio-Health Innovation, Inc., is a trustee of the Endowment Fund of the University of Maryland, and a member of the Advisory Board for Teach for America (Baltimore). He is also a professor at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

His past leadership roles include service as the chair of the Association for Corporate Growth globally, heading the Pastoral Council at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, and chairing the Board of the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO).

Mr. Morton was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Olney, Maryland, where he graduated in 1983. The award recognizes his lifetime achievement and dedication to the school.
