Washington, DC (March 2, 2026) – Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Heidi Rowe and Erin McCloskey Maus were recognized by Crain’s Chicago Business as 2026 recipients of its Notable Woman in Law recognition. This honor highlights exemplary women in senior-level roles at law firms in Chicago.

Notable Women in Law recognizes the attorneys who reflect the breadth of influence shaping business, government, and civic life. They advise global corporations, lead public institutions, manage complex transactions, and litigate matters with significant economic and social consequences. Their work spans boardrooms and courtrooms, regulatory agencies and nonprofits, with impact felt locally and nationwide. Selected for their leadership, professional achievement, and community engagement, this year’s honorees represent a cross section of practice areas and career paths. Together, they illustrate how legal expertise supports growth, accountability, and innovation across Chicago’s economy.

Ms. Rowe, a partner in the Real Estate: Construction Practice in the Chicago office, has significant experience in drafting and negotiating design and construction contracts, handling more than a billion dollars in contracts on an annual basis for projects throughout the country. In addition, she regularly assists project owners with contract administration, contract enforcement, and claims management, helping project owners to resolve claims efficiently and expeditiously, before they become formal disputes.

Ms. Maus, a partner in the Product Liability and Mass Torts Practice in the Chicago office, advises clients on international and domestic products liability and mass tort litigation and assists companies in assessing supply chain risk and handling various product-related compliance issues. Complementing her product liability practice is a commercial litigation and business consulting practice for product manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers, with a particular focus on product regulatory compliance and global product recalls. Maus has handled and tried cases in state and federal courts across the country, managed multidistrict litigation, and handled domestic and international arbitrations.
