Chicago, IL (March 4, 2026) – Venable Chicago is celebrating two of its own—Heidi Rowe and Erin McCloskey Maus—who were recently named as Crain’s Chicago Business Notable Women in Law honorees. This award highlights exemplary women in senior-level roles at law firms in Chicago.

Ms. Rowe is the deputy practice group leader of Venable’s Construction Law Group and a member of Venable’s Board. Ms. Rowe has nearly 25 years of experience helping developers and project owners manage construction-related risks. She drafts and negotiates more than a billion dollars in design and construction contracts on an annual basis for projects throughout the country and regularly advises on claims management, helping project owners to resolve claims before they become formal disputes.

Ms. Maus, a partner in the Chicago office’s Product Liability and Mass Torts Practice, advises clients on domestic and international product liability and mass tort litigation, supply chain risk, and product compliance. She also counsels manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers on regulatory compliance and global recalls. Ms. Maus has tried cases nationwide in state and federal courts, managed multidistrict litigation, and handled domestic and international arbitrations.
Venable’s Chicago office recently marked its fifth anniversary, a milestone that reflects tremendous growth and impact. Since opening in 2020 with its Construction Law Group, the Chicago office has expanded to include commercial litigation, products liability, wealth planning, investigations, corporate, and tax, adding seven practice areas in total. The office has also more than doubled its presence with the addition of top attorney talent with deep roots in the Midwest.
