On April 10, Venable LLP partner Joseph Hicks was selected to be a member of the John Payton Leadership Academy’s class of 2026. The Academy is an intensive, multi-day program bringing together a cohort of attorneys in different areas of law for a series of leadership development seminars; meetings with members of the judiciary, including DC Court of Appeals Chief Judge Anna Blackburne-Rigsby; and a coordinated pro bono activity.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Academy’s class of 2026, alongside such engaging and talented peers,” Hicks shared. “It is an honor to have been accepted into the program, and I hope to honor the legacy of John Payton, who was a beacon of leadership, service, and the fight for equality.”
Mr. Hicks counsels energy sector clients on regulatory and energy infrastructure developments and represents clients in complex administrative litigation, rulemaking proceedings, and federal appellate matters.
