Chuck Morton Appointed President of the Maryland Legal Aid Board of Directors

Chuck Morton, managing partner of Venable's Baltimore office, has been appointed president of the Maryland Legal Aid Board of Directors. Mr. Morton, who joined the board in 2023, will serve as president for the next three years.

Established in 1911, Maryland Legal Aid is a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free civil legal services to Marylanders experiencing poverty. Through its 12 offices and community-based clinics across the state, the organization helps individuals and families address critical legal needs involving housing, family safety, consumer debt, employment, public benefits, and economic security. Maryland Legal Aid also advocates systemic change through impact litigation, community collaboration, and storytelling.

Mr. Morton helps clients navigate complex business challenges and is nationally recognized for his work on mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions involving middle-market companies. He advises lenders, investors, entrepreneurs, and private equity groups on the creation, growth, acquisition, and sale of businesses, primarily in the healthcare, technology, and consumer products industries.
