Venable LLP is proud to share that the firm's band, Capital Heat—featuring Andrew Price and Glenn Moses on lead guitar, and other legal talent —was honored with the Judges' Choice Award at the 11th annual Law Rocks Washington, DC.
The Judges' Choice Award was awarded to the Capital Heat for receiving the highest marks from the Rock Panel of Judges. Their performance showcased a selection of songs from Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Pat Benatar, and several others. The event was held at the Atlantis, a recreation of the original 9:30 Club, where bands from The Police to Cyndi Lauper and the Red Hot Chili Peppers graced the stage
Capital Heat is an incarnation of Andrew's local band, Noise in the Basement. Over the last decade, the band has been named Overall Champion four times and Judges' Choice three times, while raising approximately $200,000 for charity. A significant portion of the band's fundraising efforts have supported Together We Bake, a DC nonprofit that provides job training and empowerment programs to underserved women. This year proceeds raised by the band will be donated to the Atlas Network, a champion of the worldwide freedom movement, connecting hundreds of independent nonpartisan organizations that share the common values of individual rights and free enterprise. Over nearly half a century of assisting think tank and civil society entrepreneurs, the Atlas Network has developed a proven model for increasing the effectiveness of people and teams that seek to advance the cause of liberty.
