On October 19, 2015, the National Law Journal released its annual Influence 50 list of the top-earning lobbying practices. Venable's Legislative and Government Affairs practice ranked as the 19th highest-earning practice.
To compile the Influence 50 list, National Law Journal asked more than 100 law firms and lobbying organizations to share their total public-policy revenues for 2014. In addition to revenue reported under the Lobbying Disclosure Act and the Foreign Agents Registration Act, total revenue included a broad tally of any work within a firm's public-policy department that did not represent legal work for compliance with existing laws and regulations.
