Bryan Weintrop


Bryan Weintrop practices complex commercial litigation for companies in the financial services, real estate, and advertising industries, as well as food, drug and dietary supplement manufacturers. He regularly represents clients in state and federal courts in a wide range of matters, including general business disputes, complex real estate transaction disputes, consumer financial services defense, fair credit and fair lending defense, defamation defense, unfair competition defense, commercial unlawful detainer, and automotive repair regulatory defense.

Significant Matters

  • Defended $50 million specific performance action regarding a complex commercial real estate transaction, which proceeded through a 15-day bench trial, resulting in a defense victory.
  • Obtained a six-figure judgment in a commercial lease dispute that proceeded through a bench trial.
  • Drafted multiple briefs before the California Court of Appeal on complex issues, including the California anti-SLAPP statute and California agency law.
  • Drafted multiple complaints regarding complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and interference claims.
  • Obtained a victory through summary judgment on behalf of a pro bono client, the mother of a special needs child accused by a school district of parental liability in action related to sexual abuse on school property.
  • Negotiated multiple settlement agreements in numerous representative matters, including under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act, and in breach of warranty disputes.
  • Drafted and obtained dismissal of numerous claims in state and federal courts, including under the California anti-SLAPP statute, California Unfair Competition Law, California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act, and California Corporations Code, and in breach of contract disputes.
  • Regularly enforces arbitration provisions on behalf of several clients.
