Do Not Fax After August 25: Complying with the FCC's New Fax Ban

This event has already occurred.
Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center
Washington, DC

If you rely on the fax machine for marketing, your association's marketing practices will drastically change starting August 25. That's when you will no longer be able to fax most meeting, publication, membership and other promotions--even to members--without first obtaining signed written consent from the recipient for each specific fax number.

These new rules, issued by the FCC, will fundamentally change the way that countless associations, business partners, and association members conduct their marketing. The established business relationship exception is about to disappear. The new regulations apply to fax communications with your members as well as non-members. These changes are already creating substantial costs, heartburn and other problems.
