Craig Thompson will deliver the keynote address for the 33rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet sponsored by the University of Maryland chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA).
The Black Law Student Association, founded in 1967, is a national organization with chapters at virtually every law school in the country. The University of Maryland chapter, one of the first and largest in the nation, is active in recruiting and assisting black and other minority law students with their studies while in law school and preparing them for admission to practice in the bar.
The theme of this year's banquet is "Redefining Our Purpose: The Role of the Black Attorney in 2008 and Beyond."
Venable will serve as a Platinum sponsor of the event.
