"Preventing Embezzlement and Fraud in Nonprofit Organizations" for the NYS Society of CPAs

This program will review recent criminal actions brought against nonprofit employees, highlighting the different types of fraud and embezzlement to which nonprofits are most susceptible.  It will include a discussion of why nonprofits are more vulnerable to embezzlement and fraud than their for-profit counterparts and what typically causes employees to embezzle or defraud an organization.  Lastly, the program will suggest simple controls that will help in preventing embezzlement or fraud in your organization.
