"The Debt Ceiling, Sequestration, and the Fiscal Cliff," Administrative Law Conference 2012, ABA Section on Administrative Law

This event has already occurred.
On October 25, John Bowman and John Cooney will address the Administrative Law Conference 2012 of the ABA Section on Administrative Law. Based on his experience at the Department of the Treasury, John Bowman will discuss why approaching the Debt Ceiling as a political tactic is fraught with dangers to our fiscal system and explain the adverse consequences that ensued in the summer of 2011 when Congress raised the Debt Ceiling just before the country would have defaulted on its debts. John Cooney will continue his tour of the 50 States discussing the Sequestration mechanism and the risks to the economy if Congress were to deadlock and this doomsday device were triggered.
