Join the ABA Section of Individual Rights and Responsibilities to evaluate the first Presidential Election since the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United. How did Citizens United, and other related cases, affect the campaign finance landscape during the 2012 election? Panelists will examine corporate political activity in 2012, including the rise Super PACs, hybrid PACs, and 501(c)(4) organizations, and discuss the shareholder litigation and other investor actions undertaken in response to Citizens United.
Panelists will include free speech advocates, proponents of regulation, and election law practitioners to debate the campaign finance lessons from the 2012 election.
