This program for the Westchester/Southern Connecticut (WESFACCA) Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel will provide an overview of U.S. export control requirements, including State Department and Commerce Department (BIS) regulations; U.S. sanctions and embargoes enforced by the Treasury Department (OFAC); as well as review import regulations of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Following a general primer on trade sanctions, import-export, and anti-boycott compliance for large and small companies, the panel will engage in hypotheticals to cover the critical elements of a global trade compliance program, including how to identify your vulnerabilities, share lessons learned, and provide insights from recent enforcement proceedings.
