Both houses of New York's legislature unanimously passed the Nonprofit Revitalization Act which will make comprehensive updates to New York's nonprofit-related laws for the first time in over 40 years. Once Governor Cuomo signs it into law, many nonprofits will need to update their governance documents, policies, and procedures. Some organizations may have to significantly overhaul their governance structure to comply with the detailed requirements outlined in the Act.
