On June 9, 2014, Venable’s Baltimore office hosted the Greater Maryland Chapter of the International Women's Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation's “Pitch Perfect” seminar. The program was a mock demonstration on how to perfect a pitch to potential clients in the context of bankruptcy case.
Attorneys and financial advisors gave mock demonstrations to a panel of seasoned professionals from the legal and business communities including: Dick Himelfarb, Executive Vice President, Chairman, Investment Banking, Stifel Nicolaus; Mary Ann Scully, President and CEO, Howard Bank; Lisa Poulin, Principal, Deloitte CRG; Marty Fletcher, Managing Partner, Whiteford, Taylor & Preston; and Kate Stickles of Cole Schotz’s Delaware office, who all acted as the potential clients.
Laura Bouyea, Vice-Chairperson of the Greater Maryland Chapter of IWIRC, co-chaired the event. Jamie Edmonson gave one of the six mock presentations to the panel. The near 45 attendees included attorneys, financial and other insolvency professionals from Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Washington, DC and Virginia.
