Brian J. O'Connor and Norman Lencz spoke on Day Four ("Real Estate and Partnerships") of the Advanced Tax Institute, a four-day tax seminar sponsored jointly by the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) and the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), on November 5 in Baltimore. Their presentation, which was entitled "Partnership Profits Interests," addressed the various equity compensation options available to motivate service providers in real estate and private equity partnerships and LLCs, with a special focus on new proposed regulations concerning whether certain compensatory arrangements will be treated as disguised payments for services.

Additionally, Norman Lencz served on the Committee for the "Real Estate and Partnerships Program" of the Advanced Tax Institute.
