The Zika virus has been deemed a serious international health concern by the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a number of health and travel advisories based on the Zika outbreak. Employers maintain an interest in protecting their employees and workplaces from the virus; however, certain "common-sense" measures may actually result in employer liability. This program will discuss what employers should know about the Zika virus with regard to their employees, what actions may lead to employers facing liability, and best practices for dealing with this risk.
