Venable attorney Michael J. Bresnick will moderate at panel at The Treasure Identity Forum entitled "What is Legal Identity and Why Does it Matter?"

The forum will focus on the role of legal identity for financial inclusion, economic development, and anti-money laundering/counter financing of terrorism safeguards, and the development of new technology identification/authentication solutions. The event will help government policymakers and federal regulators as well as key stakeholders work together to advance the development of identity solutions and the framework to accommodate them. They will be discussing the underlying purpose of legal identity, the need for digital identity, the availability of new technologies, and the requirements of the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act and international AML/CFT standards.
