This session reviewed the wide range of steps and issues a school must consider to avoid legal challenges when addressing employee termination and departure. Participants received best-practice tips for planning for the departure, responding to claims raised by the departure, and protecting the school from liability. In addition, the participants learned concrete strategies for establishing policies and procedures that limit liability, promote a smooth departure/transition and handle crisis management.
