Venable's San Francisco office will host the Ramboll and C40 Cities affiliate workshop and networking event during the Global Climate Action Summit on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. The Summit is chaired by Governor Jerry Brown, members of the UN, and foreign dignitaries. Its purpose is to celebrate the achievements of states, regions, cities, companies, investors and citizens with respect to climate action and to lead the charge on pushing down global emissions by 2020 (setting the stage to reach net zero emissions by midcentury).
The Ramboll, C40 Cities, and Venable workshop will showcase the Urban Climate Action Impact Framework, an innovative tool developed by C40 and Ramboll to allow stakeholders to measure how climate action can deliver on wider urban priorities, such as health, jobs, economic prosperity, quality of life, air quality, security and more. Venable's environmental partner, Bill Sloan, will lead one of the breakout sessions on governance and how to make it work from a legal perspective.
Participants will familiarize themselves with the Framework and discuss potential uses, share their own best practices for shaping equitable and inclusive climate action, and strategize applications for their cities and sectors.
