Fred Wagner presented “Civility and Professional Responsibility: Nice Guys (and Gals) Can Finish First,” a discussion of the ways the courts are working to maintain a professional and civil demeanor between attorneys and implementing severe consequences when the adversarial nature of litigation develops into bad behavior. Fred philosophized on the Model Rules of Professional Conduct and how the oath of admission to practice law carries a standard of conduct that is sometimes overlooked in the battle to win.
