Join us for a VAMOS (Venable Attorneys Making Our Success) -hosted event in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Dr. Christina D. Ponsa-Kraus, a constitutional law professor at Columbia Law School, will lead us through a discussion of recent case law and legal developments affecting the extraterritorial application of the U.S. Constitution in U.S. territories, and their implication for American federalism, citizenship, and nationhood.

Special Guest Speaker

Christina D. Ponsa-Kraus is the George Welwood Murray Professor of Legal History at Columbia Law School. She studies the history of U.S. imperialism and the constitutional issues related to the political status of Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories. Before joining Columbia Law School, Ponsa-Kraus clerked for Judge José A. Cabranes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and for Justice Stephen G. Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court.
