California Wildfire Relief

The Venable Foundation has contributed $50,000 to support the California wildfire relief efforts. Two grants of $25,000 each will assist World Central Kitchen and the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Recovery Fund.

"With more than 140 Venable attorneys and business professionals living and working in the Los Angeles area, our hearts go out to our colleagues, their neighbors, and all those impacted by the devastating wildfires," said Robert Waldman, president of the Venable Foundation.

Connecting With Our Communities

The Venable Foundation is proud to support organizations with close ties to our communities. Many of the firm's attorneys are personally and professionally involved with the organizations we support and are passionate about their missions. In this issue, we spotlight some of these attorneys and the grantees important to them.

Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation

"Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation does so much to help residents of Central Brooklyn's lower-income neighborhoods to move toward economic equity. I'm proud that the Venable Foundation provides support to this 57-plus year-old community development organization." – Susan Golden, partner in New York City

"I Have A Dream" Foundation

"Since my involvement with the 'I Have a Dream Foundation' began in 2013, I've seen how the organization is uniquely built to assist children from underprivileged backgrounds at early ages and provide mentorship and guidance from elementary school through college. Its track record of success is unparalleled, opening doors for many who would otherwise find it shut." – William J. Briggs II, partner in Los Angeles

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation provides social, emotional, and academic support to young people in low-income communities in Los Angeles, from kindergarten through college, along with guaranteed tuition support. Through mentorship programs, college prep services, and financial assistance, the foundation empowers these students to build brighter futures. Venable Foundation's support ensures these children have the opportunity to pursue higher education and achieve their dreams.

Ingenuity aims to increase access to arts education throughout Chicago public schools by advocating for stronger policies that ensure the arts are available to all students, while investing directly in schools to bolster arts programming. The Venable Foundation supports a wide variety of arts and cultural endeavors that demonstrate clear impact and open the doors for students to engage in deep arts experiences.
