Saminaz Akhter focuses her practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on acquisition and divestiture transactions in a variety of industries. Saminaz has also represented corporations in connection with commercial contracts, stockholder agreements, employment agreements, and other contracts. In addition to M&A work, she has represented sponsors in connection with the formation of private equity funds and counseled clients regarding compliance with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.

Representative Matters

  • Represented a stainless-steel fittings supplier in its acquisition of substantially all assets of a distributor of stainless adaptors, fluid power fittings, instrumentation fittings, and valves
  • Represented a client in the acquisition of a group of companies specializing in the manufacturing of wireless control solutions in industrial applications
  • Represented a distributor and importer of fasteners in its acquisition of a manufacturer of industrial gears and screw machine products, and certain of its affiliates in Canada and Taiwan
