Alison DeMarco focuses her practice on a broad range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions, and general corporate governance. Alison also regularly represents community development entities and other parties in connection with Federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) financing transactions. She advises fund sponsors, investors, and other market participants on the organization, negotiation, structuring, and operations of investment funds, as well as ongoing compliance matters.

Alison is adept at researching legal issues, drafting legal memoranda for pre-trial motions and evidentiary issues, and reviewing and organizing discovery. During law school, she gained experience in all levels of trial preparation through clerkships at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender and at a small criminal law firm in Baltimore. In addition, Alison served in the Youth, Education and Justice Clinic, where she drafted and successfully argued for a client’s Motion for Reconsideration of Sentence.  

Prior to attending law school, Alison served as a Teach for America corps member and worked as a teacher at an elementary school in Detroit, Michigan.
