Julie Hyams

Julie Snyder Hyams builds support for healthcare policy initiatives among members of Congress, state legislators, their colleagues, and staff. As a health policy advocate, Julie coordinates congressional outreach and grassroots efforts, and develops floor statements, talking points, and other advocacy materials to advance client priorities and garner support from key individuals within government. She employs the appropriate resources to produce effective results, while remaining mindful of client budgets. Her experience in seeking congressional support for clients’ public policy agendas includes securing signatures on “Dear Colleague” letters, co-sponsorship of legislation, and meetings with members and staff.

Prior to joining Venable, Julie was a special advisor at a full-service international law firm headquartered in the United States. She previously worked for the Massachusetts Association of HMOs and the Massachusetts Hospital Association, and spearheaded public affairs for a group of community hospitals north of Boston, directing all government relations efforts and overseeing media operations. Julie has also served as a consultant to several nonprofits on a wide variety of state and federal health policy issues.
