Senior Cybersecurity Policy Analyst

Timothy McGiff provides policy monitoring, analysis, and research support to cybersecurity trade associations and private companies focused on enhancing and promoting the cybersecurity ecosystem. Tim monitors congressional legislation, hearings, markups, and floor actions, and drafts informative updates for firm clients. He also tracks regulatory and policy developments from the White House, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the Department of Commerce. He also provides firm clients with tailored newsletters, contributes to policy white papers, and helps to organize cybersecurity-related events.

Prior to joining Venable, Tim was an intern with the Atlantic Council’s Cyber Statecraft Initiative, where he helped to organize several cyber policy competitions and contributed to their coordinated vulnerability disclosure publications.
