Catherine Gamper Ottenritter represents clients in complex commercial matters throughout state and federal court systems. Catherine began her Venable career as a summer associate, where she drafted memoranda in a commercial general liability insurance dispute and prepared a statutory update for Maryland Corporation Law, the leading treatise on corporation law in the state. She brings significant judicial experience to her litigation practice. In both of her judicial clerkships with the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, she assisted in civil and criminal matters, drafted memoranda disposing of pretrial and post-trial motions, and prepared bench memoranda for hearings and trial.
Prior to law school, Catherine worked as a legal assistant to the intellectual property group of an international law firm. In this role, she assisted the pretrial and trial teams for high-profile litigation cases and managed all relevant case materials, including expert depositions, pleadings, deadlines, and correspondence. Catherine also retained expert witnesses, set up depositions, and arranged for client document collection.
